Broncos Have Their Second Or Third Hall of Famer?
Two former Broncos are included in the 17 finalists that are up for induction into the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The two finalists we have are Randy Gradishar a middle linebacker who spent his whole career in Denver from 1974 to 1983. Gradishar was drafted in the first round of the 1974 draft. In his ten season career he never missed a game. He led the team in tackles for 9 seasons. He went to 7 pro bowls and had 20 career interceptions. He was one of the best middle linebackers in the league for many years.
The second player was Gary Zimmerman. You could argue he would be inducted as a Minnesota Vikings because he spent a year more with them. But he won a Super Bowl with the Broncos and that is why he will probably inducted as a Bronco. He was a talented tackle who defended John Elway in the prime of his career. His blocking helped the Broncos rushing game lead in total yards for years. Zimmerman was named to both the Minnesota Vikings All Decade Team and the Denver Broncos All Decade Team.
