My Denver Broncos Day 1 2008 Draft Predictions
This is what I have come up with for the Broncos on what they will pick day 1 in the draft.
1. Ryan Clady, OT, Boise State
This guy just can’t get away from Broncos. After being a Boise State Bronco for a couple of years it looks like it is time for him to come to the Denver Broncos. He is a skilled OT who can help protect Jay Cuter and spurt his growth. He protects the line better than almost anybody in the draft and lets up very few sacks.
2. Earl Bennett, WR, Vanderbilt
In his freshmen season at Vanderbilt he was already Cutlers favorite target. Could he be the same here? Jay Cutler will want him badly and if this draft really is about supporting Jay Cutler then this guy is a must have.
3. Tom Zbikowski, S, Notre Dame
We will most likely trade to acquire a 3rd round pick after trading it away and if we do Zbikowski would be the best possible pick. With John Lynch retiring if not this year the next we need a replacement for him. Tom possesses the same strong physical aspects of the game, which John Lynch mastered. But he has something Lynch never had. Blazing speed! Zbikowski is one of if not the only safety in the draft that can return kicks. He is a great player that will solve two problems.

Nice Job.
I was watching Mike and Mike and they were talking about the possibility of McFadden being available at # 12. Intriguing, if true.

Tom Zbikowski is a madman at Safety and a John Lynch prototype in the making. Not only would he fit our DB’s perfectly with his speed and toughness mixture, but would also give us areturn threat for the first time since Deltha O’Neal roamed the Special Teams backfield. He is tough and wants to play anywhere he can get a chance which makes him a great fit here in Denver. Denver wants him, the Broncos NEED him, and he will produce in the NFL, having already played for an NFL caliber coach in Charlie Weis. Not only would it be a good idea to draft him, we should do whatever it takes to make sure it happens. An impact player like this in the 3rd round would be one of the steals of the draft, and couldn’t be a better fit for the Bronc’s in ‘08
