Truncale: It isn’t Thomas’s Cocaine

2008 March 7

Marcus Thomas could have just dodged a bullet which might have resulted in his departure from the Broncos. Charles Truncale (Thomas’s attorney) claimed that the cocaine found in a car Marcus Thomas had rode in earlier that day was not his.

Thomas had been arrested in Orange Park, Florida on Tuesday and spent the night in jail. Bryce Carter stepped up and told Truncale that the cocaine was actually his. Surprisingly this was not filed in the police report.

Thomas had a successful rookie season after being drafted from Florida in the 4th round despite being kicked off of the National Championship Team. The DE totaled 19 tackles, 1 FF, and 1 INT. He was a nominee for Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week 2 after playing a great game in overtime against the Raiders.

He had passed all Drug Tests so far. Thomas has a court date set for March 19.
