Three More In The Bag
I was wondering how much longer it was going to take until we would sign our next drafts picks. So I woke up booted up my computer and went to the Denver Post. There it was! 3 more draft picks signed.
As per club policy the deals were not released. But we did know the signing bonuses. They ranged from $97,000 to $200,000. (Any more news on that rookie salary cap)?
But enough waiting, we drafted players Spencer Larsen for a $97,500 signing bonus, Ryan Torain for a $200,000 signing bonus, and Carlton Powell received a $180,000 signing bonus. All of the contracts were 4 year agreements.
They will announce the signings today if they get clearance from the NFL office. Hopefully they will be a bit more careful after Josh Barretts’ contract falling through for a day due to language in the contract.
We still haven’t signed some of our first few picks, including Ryan Clady, Eddie Royal, Kory Lichtensteiger, and Jack Williams.
“The Broncos are being extremely fair in the way they’re doing this,” said Jack Scharf, who is representing RB Ryan Torain.
Spencer Larsen it still being considered for the role of Fullback. But he is wearing 54 in camp which means that he will most likely be trained as a MLB for the time being. ”Fullback was fun,” Larsen said. “I think it was kind of an experimental thing. I hadn’t done it since high school. But for me, the more I can do for the team, the better.”
