BM Exclusive Draft Profile: Mike Rivera
Bronco Madness is getting a head start on the draft with a brand new Mock Draft for the 2009 season. But we are stepping it up a notch with BM (Bronco Madness) Exclusive Draft Profiles. We will have one about once or twice a week but as we near the draft, we will have more and more. But for now we will start with LB Mike Rivera of the Kansas Jayhawks.
Name: Mike Rivera
Position: Linebacker
School: Kansas U.
Height & Weight: 6-3 / 255
High School: Shawnee Mission NW HS
Class: Senior (Freshman Redshirt)
What I Think: Wow. Rivera is a tough one to peg. While he is a bright spot on the Jayhawks this season you do have to wonder about whether he could be a player in the NFL. His athleticism is decent and he has a good drive to win. But he is very weak when I comes to intangibles. He is not even in a lot of Draft Rankings but he could (depending on this next season) be a draft prospect. Whether he wants to or not is up in the air but I like him and think that he could maybe come up with a good season. He was an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, on the Butkus Award Watch list, and was on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team. It all depends on this next season though.
Draft Grade: D
